Tea for Gaza

  • Upper East Side New York, NY 10028 (map)

A fundraiser for Palestinian Artists Mohanad Smama & Durgham Qreiqe

In this tea session Kristina will brew gongfu tea and hold space for us to drink tea together quietly.

This event is by donation, pay what you like. Funds will be forwarded to Mohanad and Durgham’s Go Fund Me campaigns.

Mohanad is a dancer, choreographer, and artist from Gaza City. He founded the Hai Team for Contemporary Arts to empower a community of young artists and to develop storytelling through dance. Mohanad has lost his home and dance studio and has been displaced nine times. He is raising funds so he can stay alive, continue his work, and evacuate himself and his family to safety in Egypt.

Durgham is a visual artist who paints and draws. He recently created a program to bring the joy of cinema to children in displacement camps. He has suffered the loss of his studio, artwork, and several family members. He is raising funds for living expenses for himself and his remaining family in Gaza.

Things to Note:
Space is limited.
We will be seated on cushions on the floor.
